About Canvas
Canvas is a Learning Management System or LMS. An LMS serves as a platform for teacher and students to work together online. Teachers can post assignments, create discussion boards, upload content like PowerPoints and instructional videos. For students, Canvas creates a one stop shop for all their courses; organizing their assignments, giving them a single calendar for due dates, being able to review content posted by teachers, and even submit assignments online. Union offers Canvas to all teachers and students and its use is expanding quickly. Infinite Campus (Union’s Student Information System or SIS) is still the official place for Grades and Attendance at Union.
